Commercial roofing in Broomfield, CO
Broomfield is about 30 miles north-northwest of our Centennial office, by I-25 and US 36 or the Northwest Parkway. We inspect, maintain, repair and replace roofs on its office campuses, retail centers, apartments and association buildings.
Broomfield's commercial buildings
Broomfield sits on the US 36 corridor between Denver and Boulder, and a lot of its commercial square footage was built in the last 30 years. Roofs here tend to be large, relatively modern single-ply systems carrying heavy mechanical loads, alongside an older core that needs a different approach.
Interlocken and the US 36 offices
Interlocken is one of the largest business parks in the north metro area, with corporate campuses, multi-story offices and hotels spread along US 36. Roofs there often support large air-handling units, generators and communications equipment, with many penetrations to keep watertight. A campus with several buildings benefits from one maintenance plan and one set of records instead of a different roofer for each building.
Retail and mixed-use
FlatIron Crossing and the shopping centers around it form the main retail district near US 36. Arista, around the 1stBank Center, mixes retail, offices and apartments. In the north, the Baseline development near I-25 and Highway 7 and the Northwest Parkway corridor are adding new commercial and multifamily buildings.
The older core and associations
The original part of Broomfield, along US 287 and 120th Avenue, holds older strip centers, churches, schools and small office buildings, many with built-up or re-covered roofs. Across the city there are townhome and condominium associations and apartment communities, plus association clubhouses and amenity buildings in the newer master-planned neighborhoods.
One jurisdiction: the City and County of Broomfield
Broomfield became a consolidated city and county in 2001, so unlike most metro cities there's no separate county building department to sort out. The Building Division of the City and County of Broomfield handles permits and inspections across the whole jurisdiction. Its re-roofing policy requires a permit for replacing roofing materials on all buildings, and contractors working in Broomfield must be licensed with the city and county.
We prepare and submit the permit application, schedule inspections and include permitting in our proposal. The Building Division page has the current submittal process and code information.
Wind is the big one
Broomfield sits in the path of the strong westerly winds that come down from the Front Range foothills and across Boulder County. In December 2021, wind-driven flames from the Marshall Fire destroyed more than a thousand homes in neighboring Superior and Louisville, a reminder of how strong and dry those winds can be.
- Wind uplift. Roof failures in high winds almost always start at the perimeter and corners, where uplift pressure is highest. Edge metal, coping, membrane attachment and fastening density at corners are what keep a roof on. We specify and install those details to code and to the manufacturer's requirements.
- Rooftop equipment. Units, screens and conduit that aren't properly secured can shift or tear loose in a windstorm and damage the membrane around them.
- Hail. Hail season runs from about mid-April to mid-August, and storms tracking down the US 36 corridor can hit a large area at once.
- Wildfire. Colorado's 2025 Wildfire Resiliency Code calls for Class A rated roofs in mapped wildfire hazard areas. We confirm with the Building Division whether your property is affected before we specify a system.

Broomfield roofing FAQs
Broomfield is a city and a county. Who issues our roofing permit?
The City and County of Broomfield's Building Division. Because Broomfield is consolidated, there's one building department for the whole jurisdiction, and its re-roofing policy requires a permit to replace roofing on any building. We handle the application and inspections.
What should we check after a big windstorm?
Look from the ground for loose or missing edge metal, flapping membrane and displaced rooftop equipment, but don't walk the roof yourself. We inspect corners, perimeters, seams and equipment curbs, photograph anything that moved and make temporary repairs so a small opening doesn't become a large one.
Can you maintain every building on our office campus under one plan?
Yes. Our S.M.a.R.T. program is priced per building, but we schedule visits across a campus together and give you reports in one consistent format, so you can compare buildings and plan capital work.
Do higher wind ratings cost more?
Usually somewhat, because enhanced attachment means more fasteners or adhesive, heavier edge metal and more labor at the perimeter. In Broomfield's wind exposure, that cost is often justified. We explain the options and what each one buys you in the proposal.
